Starting our second wk of school tomorrow and our first full wk. We'll also see how much information they retained over the wkend. We were busy this wkend, two baby showers and cleaning house, and didn't do much review.
The older girls are also starting dance classes tomorrow afternoon and we are all excited. My sister and I took them to see a dance performance earlier this year and they both wanted to go up and dance on the stage. Kyla actually started crying because I wouldn't let her go up on the stage, and we had to leave for a few minutes to calm her down. Their interest in dance first started when they watched the Angelina Ballerina show on Netflix. They pretend to be Angelina on a regular basis and have dance leotards that they like to wear anytime there's music.
I love watching the kids dance. Sometimes they do soemthing that actually looks like dancing, but most of the time it's just flailing around and almost falling. Lyssa looks the most awkward, she has better motor control than the others but the way she holds herself is so stiff and forced. Lately all Kyla has wanted to do for dancing is spin around till she can't stand anymore. Watching her stumble around because she is dizzy is hilarious, but nerve wracking at the same time since she falls so close to the furniture. Raye and Ayan are fun too. They mostly bounce and wave their arms around. Raye tries to spin, but after two rotations she falls on her bottom. Apperently she gets dizzy verrry fast.
Going to go and prep for school. I need to make sure I have all the books, flashcards, teaching aids/games, and props out for lesson 4. Also going to start explaining time and days to them tomorrow. I have a clock that I can stick icons on for each of our scheduled events for the day, and a big calender to introduce weekdays. I'm interested to see how well they will understand those concepts and how long it will take for them to get a good grip on the idea.
