Did alot this afternoon. Took the kids and went with my sis, brother-in-law, and their kids to the park in the afternoon. Then went shopping and got practically everything for dinners and lunches for the month. Now I just have a small list of specific items for each week. I started doing this last month and it should work out good for us.
How I'm Planning: I make a list of 16 different dinners for the month(4 each wk-other nights will be leftovers), make a list of all the meats and frozen/packaged goods I need and buy all of those in advance. Then plan which meals I will be having each week and make a list of the perishable items I need for that wk, i.e. buns, fresh fruit and veggies, ect.. and then at the beginning of each week I can pick up those items along with the milk/bread/juice that I need for the wk. This should help us stay in our food budget better than we have been.
